Job Description: The COVID Communicable Disease Control Coordinator works under the direction of the designated Primary Health Care Manager, in collaboration the COVID Primary Health Care Manager.
The COVID Communicable Disease Control Coordinator is accountable for planning, implementation and evaluation of COVID related Communicable Disease Control (CDC) programs within the Saskatchewan Health Authority. The COVID CDC Coordinator's scope of practice requires a broad knowledge base and autonomous decision-making skills, with a specialized focus on implementation of provincial standards related to Communicable Disease Control. The coordinator role provides program orientation, ongoing in-servicing and support to designated COVID response staff, including Public Health Nurses within an interdisciplinary service delivery model. CDC. This position is also responsible for auditing program standards for staff adherence, as well as CDC reporting required by the Ministry.
Required Qualifications
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
Valid Class 5 driver's license
Bachelor's degree in Nursing with course credits in community health and public health nursing required.
Experience
Candidates with a minimum of 5 years recent relevant experience.
Knowledge and ability to apply community health nursing theory and principles.
Ability to apply intermediate computer skills and applications as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Utilizes epidemiological models to explain disease patterns in community health
