Job Description: This role is responsible for:
Confirming client information and consent
Providing Covid-19 Immunizations to staff, clients patients, residents and the general public at various clinics and facilities through SHA
Observing clients immediately after injection for side effects
Ensuring proper usage and storage of vaccines and sharps before and after use
Ensuring cold chain in maintained
Minimum requirements:
Immunization is within scope of practice or authorized to immunize

Required Qualifications
Current registration in good standing with Saskatchewan Registered Nursing Association (SRNA)
Other Information

External applicants applying to the Saskatchewan Health Authority are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Proof of Vaccination will be required prior to offer of employment.

Knowledge, Skills & Judgement
Vaccine Administration procedure
COVID-19 Vaccine Brand-specific learning
New immunizer module (as necessary)
Anaphylaxis training module
EPIC COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy training
Knowledge of how Immunization Clinics work
Other health professionals may need further orientation and IM training
Knowledge of various vaccines and potential side effects
Knowledge of treatment modalities available
Ability to follow work standards, algorithms and scripts
Able to manage time effectively and prioritize workload constantly
Excellent assessment skills
Aware and displays empathy to stigmatized and vulnerable populations
Adheres to SHA privacy and confidentiality principles
Escalates issues to the clinical lead based on work standards and algorithms

Successful applicant must submit a satisfactory criminal record check, including vulnerable sector search, prior to an offer of employment being made.
