Description

Environmental Coordinator

Responsibilities:
-Work to meet and maintain conditions in the sites regulatory permits and licenses to ensure compliance.
-Complete required monitoring and testing as per the mills Permit to Operate and Permit to Operate Hygienic Waterworks
-Maintain compliance with provincial and federal environmental legislation, regulations, and codes of practice
-Support and engage in project development, including completing environmental impact assessments and obtaining necessary permits and approvals from regulatory bodies
-Provide training relating to environmental awareness, waste management, spill response, and environmental impacts to mill personnel
-Investigate and report environmental incidents, events, and non-compliances to regulators as required
-Complete environmental reporting for regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders
Provide support for the maintenance and development of the sites Integrated Management System (ISO 1400/9001)
-Initiate and approve changes to the Environmental Management System to ensure continued improvement and regulatory compliance
-Assists with and support internal and external audits to maintain appropriate ISO certifications and CNSC license compliance
-All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
-A diploma or degree in Sciences with preference given to Environmental Sciences from an accredited post-secondary institution
-2-3 years experience in an industrial setting
-Excellent organizations and communication skills
-Competent in the use of computers, software and applicable technology, including Microsoft Office Suite
-Good interpersonal skills, comfortable in a team environment, interacting with others, and taking the lead when necessary
-Excellent written, verbal, listening and presentation skills
-Familiarity with Saskatchewan and Canadian environmental legislation and codes of practice, CNSC regulations
