Group Home Worker
Reporting to the Group Home Manager, the Group Home worker is responsible for the ongoing support, health and safety of NSN residents.  
Key responsibilities:
consistently provide a high standard of support/care for the residents in accordance with NSN's policies, procedures and practices.
Follow care plans, behavior support plans, consistent approaches and group home routines.
Follow directions given by group home manager or designate when dealing with incidents and emergency situations.
Provide personal care, assistance to each resident.
Respond effectively in emergency situations and in all incidents such as aggression, conflict, seizures, choking etc
Provide a clean and safe living environment, and nutritious meals for residents
Maintain resident records, files and progress notes
Transport residents to activities, appointments and provide support during these activities
Housekeeping duties including laundry, cleaning and meal preparation.
Qualifications:
   Grade 12; post secondary certificate in Disability Support Worker, Certified Care assistant or similar designation is an asset
  Experience in working with and providing personal care for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
An equivalent of education and experience will be considered
Knowledge of intellectual disabilities and barriers to support

Skills:
Sensitive and compassionate
Excellent oral and written communication skills
ability to work with little supervision
This position requires:
A valid Saskatchewan drivers license
A satisfactory criminal record check including vulnerable sector search
An Oath of Confidentiality and the Code of Ethics of the Agency
Basic computer skills
