Internal/external (contract to March 31, 2022)

The Regina Open Door Society Inc. is seeking a qualified individual to staff the term position of Settlement Case Worker. Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP) works in coordination with other IRCC funded and other community programs to provide newcomers with initial settlement support to ensure they are able to settle in the city.

Accessing RAP services will help newcomers meet their initial settlement needs and goals while under the OSN program newcomers meet their everyday settlement needs and goals; to assist them in better understanding life in Canada.

Desired qualifications/education
A Post-Secondary education and 2 to 3 years related work experience are position requirements.
Additional requirements include:
A criminal record check, clean child abuse registry record,
A valid class 5 driver's license, and
A clean driver abstract.
Fluency in Dari/ Pashto or Arabic/Tigrigna Language, will be an asset

Job Description

RAP Responsibilities:

Deliver the RAP program according to IRCC guidelines and follow RODS policies & administrative procedures
Contributes to overall RAP planning and implementation
Coordinate timely and effective services including assisting with arrival (i.e. airport reception, basic life skills, transportation)
Conduct needs assessments and referrals that respond to the immediate needs of clients

OSN Responsibilities:

Organize and deliver orientation and information sessions assist newcomers to better understand the Canadian systems through orientation, informational meetings and workshops, and individual information and referral sessions
Facilitate one-on-one initial case planning; assist clients in identifying and assessing their needs, develop short and long-term goals
