The role of the finance assistant is to support the day-to-day finance and accounting tasks of the Finance department, ultimately helping to maintain the company's financial health and make sure resources are efficiently tracked and used beneficially.
Job duties include:
- Tracking and reconciling bank statements
- Supporting payroll and keeping organized records
- Setting up and maintaining group benefits and pension
- Maintaining filing systems
- Recording accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Processing invoices and following up with funders, suppliers, and partners as needed
- Providing administrative support during budget preparation and annual audits
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Minimum of Grade 12
- 1-2 years experience in office administration
- Continued education in a related field would be preferred
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Aptitude in using Simply Accounting Software
- Good knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures and principles
