WELLNESS COORDINATOR
at
DENE HIGH SCHOOL
La Loche, SK

La Loche is a thriving Dene community with a population of over 2500 people.  The community has all the usual businesses, stores, churches and government agencies including a hospital and daycare facilities.  Views of the lake add to the charm of the town.  The environment surrounding La Loche offers a variety of recreational activities and has an indoor hockey arena.  An airport offers charter flights to communities further south and to the north.

Dene High School provides educational programming for students in grades 7-12 in a modern, well-equipped facility with an enrolment of approximately 499 students, 30 teachers plus 5 paraprofessionals. This position reports to the school administration.  

Duties include but are not limited to:

-    Lead the onsite Wellness Committee;
-    Liaise between staff, students, family members and support personnel to identify and establish needed supports and services;
-    Help to identify high risk youth for families and staff;
-    Liaise with school Social Workers to ensure the needs of the students are being met;
-    Effectively communicate with all levels of government, federal, provincial and local;
-    Work with local agencies to bring programs and services to the school environment
