Description

Palliser Plains Co-op is accepting applications for 2 Temporary Full Time Agro Summer Students in our Agro Departments in Shamrock and Tugaske. The terms will begin May 1, 2022 and end August 31, 2022.

Reporting to the Crop Protection Manager, the positions will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day upkeep and operation of the ag facilities. The position will be responsible for providing both administrative and operational support in a manner which aligns with the Co-op vision and values. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to, data entry and other administrative support, loading, unloading, shipping and storing ag products, assisting in inventory management, ag product deliveries, operating a variety of equipment, field scouting and other agronomy-related tasks, providing superior customer service, and other duties as assigned.  

Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled an Agriculture degree or diploma program
- A background in Agriculture, with a strong interest in and knowledge of the industry
- Proficient computer skills including familiarity with MS Office Suite  
- Ability to operate various tools, equipment, and machinery in a responsible and safe manner
- Experience providing excellent customer service
- Experience working with/on a multigenerational team
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Regular and repetitive heavy lifting and moving is required (50lbs+)
- Ability and willingness to work long hours as determined by business needs
- Valid class 5 drivers license is required, G endorsement would be an asset
