Position and Responsibilities
Cameco is looking for a well-rounded and motivated individual to join our mine engineering team at the Cigar Lake operation in northern Saskatchewan.
Reporting to the Sr. Engineer, Mine, you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of duties, both in the field (underground and on surface) as well as in the office, in a safe and efficient manner. Responsibilities will include underground survey and monitoring of development and production areas, concrete testing, ventilation monitoring, and various surface survey jobs. You will create driving layouts and other mine drawings under direction of the design engineer and will further create drawings to accompany regularly issued reports. You will be required to accurately record data and properly file drawings and associated documents. You will be able to work independently, to communicate effectively with coworkers to plan work, and to provide leadership within the mine technician group.

Education and Qualifications
Requirements of the position:
Technical diploma in mining or related field
Three to six years of relevant work experience
Fully proficient in surveying with total station and GPS
Experience in an underground mine environment
Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
Strong communication, leadership, planning and problem-solving skills
Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Assets:
One year Technologist Certificate
Experience drafting with Vulcan/AutoCAD
Experience working in a uranium mine and with concrete testing will be considered an asset
