Description

-Reporting to the Chief and Council, the Director of Operations will oversee the management, administration and delivery of all the programs and services to ensure that the needs of Yellow Quill Community Members are met in a reasonable, ethical and efficient manner.  Duties will include, but not limited to:
-Ensure that all operations are conducted in a respectful and responsible way, and all decisions and actions meet the relevant legislation, policies and procedures;
-Oversee, directly and indirectly, all financial transactions, programs and services created and implemented by the Chief & Council and all Staff;
-Liaison between Chief and Council and staff through effective management; conduct regular supervision and annual performance evaluation of managers; issues and complaints;
-Liaison between other government agencies and departments, private industry business and any other individuals, groups or agencies operating in the community.
-Provides accurate records and reporting to Chief & Council, relevant governments and agencies, when requested.
Qualifications:
-Post-secondary Degree in Business Administration, Public Policy or a related field with Five (5) + years related training and experience.
-Experience with policy development/maintenance, financial reporting to Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) and managing committees.
-Experience working with a First Nations organization
-Must be able to organize, motivate, delegate, collaborate personnel
-Excellent oral and written communication skills
-Strong analytical and negotiation skills
-Knowledge of Saulteaux culture and traditions; language being an asset
-Salary commensurate with training and experience
