The Saskatchewan Research Councils (SRC) Mining and Minerals Division has an opening for a ICP Tech to join the Geochemistry area in the Geoanalytical Laboratories.
Accountabilities
Prepare samples for analysis, and operate and calibrate analytical instrumentation
Perform routine maintenance on ICP-OES/ICP-MS instrumentation while adhering to protocols and safety guidelines
Troubleshoot equipment errors and sample preparation errors
Wash, clean, and store various forms of labware according to cleaning procedures
Qualifications
A chemical technology diploma or undergraduate degree in a related discipline, with a minimum of two years lab experience is preferred
Experience in laboratory procedures, safety practices and quality control techniques
Working knowledge of analytical equipment, in particular ICP-OES and ICP-MS is an asset
Skills
Team player with effective interpersonal, communication, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
Ability to understand and carry out written procedures with high attention to detail
Positive attitude and willingness to help where needed
The chosen candidate will be required to provide an original Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to SRC prior to the commencement of any employment duties. The Criminal Record Check must have been executed within the preceding 30 days of receipt.
