Description

Program:                        Housing & Public Works
Reports to:                     Director of Operations
Terms of Employment:     Permanent Full time
Hours of Work:               37.5 hours/week (Monday/Friday), Some evenings/weekends required.

Under the general supervision of the Director of Operations, Maintenance & Public Works Manager will be responsible to provide administrative support to the Housing & Public Works Programs; the Maintenance & Public Works Manager must be safety orientated and work efficiently and in co-operation with Community members, Housing Staff, other Band Programs, and Chief and Council.

Preferred Qualifications:
Grade 12 or Equivalent
Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver?s licence
Excellent computer skills
General knowledge of budgets
Administrative background
Experience working with First Nations people and communities
Excellent written and oral communications skills

Duties and Responsibilities

Administer the Housing and Maintenance Policies and Procedures
Assist with funding applications
Communicate effectively with community members, Housing Staff and immediate supervisor
Communicate with Government and Funding Agencies
Prepare documents, letters, reports and other tasks as directed by the Director of Operations
Work collaboratively with all related departments
Assist with the database of Housing and Community Building structures
Work with contractors for minor and major renovations
Assess residential & community buildings for repairs and maintenance
Assess and maintain fleet vehicles for mechanical issues
Expected to attend construction sites as required
Perform any other related duties that may be required
