Description

On behalf of our client, EXPRESS EMPLOYMENT PROFESSIONALS is searching for an experienced Powder Coating Operator to set up and operate powder coating equipment during the day shift.  You must be highly focused and thrive in a busy fabricating environment.  You have the ability to read instructions represented in drawings and follow them with precision which is essential.  You ensure machines are correctly set up and working well in producing a quality paint finish.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Operates a machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines with special attention to daily start-ups and shutdowns
    Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks according to specifications, accurately and in a timely fashion
    Pretreat, clean, prime and powder coat a variety of parts as needed
    Perform required quality checks including 1st piece, in-process, and final inspections
    Load parts correctly for maximum efficiency
    Change hanging patterns as needed
    Apply powder to parts using electrostatic paint gun
    Use measuring devices to ensure highest level of quality
    Sanding and/or correcting parts as needed
    Follow all company policies, safety policies and procedures
    Interprets blueprints and engineering drawings correctly
    Department housekeeping including daily 5S
    Clean and maintain equipment
    Assists in the performance of troubleshooting on the machine when required
    Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
    Ability to read and follow written directions and understand shop drawings including all relevant information such as dimensions and using tape measure when needed
    Paint thickness pre-cure and after cure measurements
    Able to use tools and machines with an attention to detail and work within precise limits and standards of accuracy
    Good understanding of math and quality control principles
    Must possess strong problem solving and communication skills as well as the ability to handle changing demands
