The Heavy Construction Safety Association of Saskatchewan is looking for an individual to work as a Safety Program Consultant. This person will work with the HCSAS team to provide guidance and ensure compliance to all applicable Saskatchewan Occupational Health & Safety and Workers Compensation Board legislation to companies in Heavy Civil Construction in Saskatoon and the North Central Region of Saskatchewan. The Safety Program Consultant would be responsible to promote our association and its services to members and act as a leader in safety. This position will be based out of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. However, travel will be required.

Knowledge of working with Safety Management Systems
Demonstrated understanding of Saskatchewan Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
Proven working knowledge of construction methods and procedures
Demonstrated leadership capabilities
Demonstrated problem-solving skills
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Internet Explorer
High School Diploma, or equivalent, is required.
Three years of work experience in safety or construction.
Possession of a valid drivers license and clean drivers abstract.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous working experience in a Heavy Civil Construction setting and in operation of heavy equipment.
Completion of a National Construction Safety Officer Designation.
Completion of an Occupational Health and Safety Certificate or Diploma with the ability to achieve a NCSO designation.
A minimum of one (1) year experience working with a COR Safety Management System and audit.
Previous experience in adult instruction and a good understanding of adult learning principles.
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Products.
