Description

The Oxbow Community Childcare Centre is seeking a full time employee to work as an Early Childhood Educator at the Centre 5 days per week, 40 hours, beginning in January 2022. Opportunity to work increased hours each day, beyond 8 hours, in order to receive an Earned Day Off each pay period (great for long weekends or to schedule appointments so not missing out on pay!)

The successful applicant will work with children between the ages of 18 months - 12 years and will be expected to plan quality experiences and activities and have positive interactions with the children and other educators.  

Requirements of employment:

Submit results of a Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Check, before the first day of employment
First Aid/CPR Level C certification (or willing to obtain within first 3 months of employment)
ECE Level I (or higher) certification or willing to obtain

For individuals who do not yet have their ECE Level I or higher an education plan would be made and the individual would apply for an exemption as a Level I as soon as they are enrolled in ECE classes.

Be available to work between the hours of 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday
Be willing to work with varying ages

Wage scale is in place depending on education and qualifications, starting at $13.39 hourly for Level I. Enrollment in the company benefits package after a satisfactory 3 month probationary period - the OCCC covers half of the monthly premium.
