Description

The Attendant will be responsible to oversee the operations of the outdoor rink surfaces and warm up shack.

Tasks:

1. Assist with maintenance of ice and walkways (shoveling, moving nets, flooding, etc.) and operating associated equipment as required.

2. Patrol facility looking for facility issues, safety hazards or improper departmental operations, ensuring the safety of the public at all times.

3. To supervise the Outdoor Ice surface and the change room building in terms of proper use, reduce unwanted behaviour, reduce loitering and to reduce abuse and vandalism.

4. Perform general cleaning/maintenance as assigned throughout each shift (e.g. sweeping, mopping, empty garbage containers, washroom and common area cleaning, snow shoveling).

5. Work with enthusiasm and professionalism as a member of the facility team at all times.

6. Work within the specifications of supervisor or assigned supervisory staff at all times.

Qualifications:
Able to work nights, weekends and holidays- dates and times to be agreed upon between facilities manager and successful applicant.

Excellent customer service and interpersonal communications skills

Must be able to perform all essential duties/requirements associated with this job (e.g. standing, walking, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 100lbs).

Possession of valid Standard First Aid and CPR Certification is an asset.

Able to understand and comprehend all policies and procedures as they relate to the work being performed.

Good communication skills, problem solving, and ability to deal with conflict in a diplomatic manner

Able to follow instructions and operate various related cleaning equipment

Police records check

Working Conditions:
May be subject to variable weather conditions.

Flexible work hours to meet the needs of the Outdoor Ice surface and snow removal for rentals.
