Description

Warman Lutheran Early Learning Centers Inc. is looking to hire an EA for our Warman location. We are looking for someone to join our team and work one on one with a child. The successful applicant will collaboratively work with the Director, parent and supporting professional to create a Personal Program Plan (PPP) to help the child be successful in daily activities. To provide a safe environment wherein the child may develop to his/her potential; spiritually, physically, emotionally, intellectually, socially and creatively. We are looking for an experienced, outgoing, confident educator to fill this role!

Qualifications:
-Minimum Level I ECE
-Certification in Standard First Aid and CPR-C, Criminal Record Check
-A sound theoretical and practical understanding of normal child development.
-Excellent communication skills.
-Has experience working with children with diverse abilities.  

Responsibilities:
-Prepare the environment for child to learn through active exploration and interaction with adults, other children, and materials. Extend child's learning by asking questions or making suggestions that stimulate their thinking. In keeping with the Play and Exploration Curriculum.
-Provide active and safe supervision at all times.
-Facilitate the development of self esteem by expressing respect, acceptance and comfort for all children regardless of their behavior.
-Welcome parents, and encourage a conversation about the child's day.
-Keep informed of current research and development in the child care profession.
- Documentation and communication are key!
-Flexible hours in accordance with child's hours.

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
 - First Aid Certificate
 - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate
Early Childhood Educator Assistant Skills
 - Prepare craft materials and assist children to use them
 - Guide children in development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
 - Arrange transition periods such as lunch and rest for children
Experience With Children Who Have Special Needs
 - Children with a mental health disability
 - Children with behavioural issues
Work Setting
 - Day-care centre
Ability to Supervise
 - 5-10 people
Security and Safety
 - Criminal record check (abstract)
