Position Overview
As the Executive Director, you provide leadership and direction in the delivery of all programs for Sioux Valley Dakota Tiwahe Services (SV-DTS) and report directly to the Board of Directors. In collaboration with Management, you oversee the management of the Administrative office and the Sioux Valley community office. You will develop and implement Child and Family Services (CFS) programming within the Agency that are consistent with the culture and traditions of the Sioux Valley Dakota Nation (SVDN) with the primary focus on prevention and keeping families together and within the community whenever possible. You are responsible for developing and implementing the process of attaining a provincial mandate for SV-DTS. This will be a three-stage process:
1) Developing SV-DTS to have control over services delivered within the community of Sioux Valley: this process involves development and implementation and signing a sub-agreement with Dakota Ojibway Child and Family Services (DOCFS) to transfer that control.
2) This phase involves working through the process of attaining the provincial mandate and SV-DTS having full capacity to work as an independent agency with full range of service.
3) To develop and implement community laws as they pertain to the community of Sioux Valley.
