Facility: MENTAL HEALTH - SHR
Job Description: Reporting to the Inpatient Services Manager, Mental Health and Addiction Services, the incumbent will participate as an active member of a multidisciplinary team. The Social Worker within the Mental Health and Addiction Services Team provides assessments and therapeutic interventions for clients and familites, with the primary objective to support and strengthen financial, housing and other social functioning. This is done through collaboration with the client and/or family, the Mental Health and Addiction Service Interdisciplinary Team, and other service providers.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Social Work
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)
Experience
Experience working in a mental health/psychiatric social work setting with clients suffering from chronic, severe, pervasive psychiatric issues. Experience in providing advocacy for severely mentally ill clients as well as discharge planning from a medical facility.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Basic computer skills
Ability to travel both within the region and provincially
Proficient assessment, counseling, and case management skills.
Demonstrated leadership, communication, decision making, documentation and organizational skills
Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies and ability to appropriately intervene/attain appropriate intervention in emergency situations
Knowledge of mental health treatment resources with the willingness to build on the strengths of the community and the resiliency of its families
Knowledge and willingness to integrate mental health programming across SHR, MH&AS and at a community level collaborating
