Job Description: As a member of Mental Health Services, the Social Worker is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include screening, crisis intervention, counselling, goal planning, consultation, preparation of reports, data collection and client, family and public education.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Social Work
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Interpersonal skills
Requires initiative and judgment to plan implement and modify treatment programs according to client and program needs
Willingness to take CPR and Part
Knowledge of mental health and mental illness across the life cycle
Understanding of health promotion and health prevention initiatives in mental health
Current knowledge of mental health and mental illness issues in a variety of settings (i.e. acute and community)
Knowledge of the systems theory and interventions appropriate to mental health
Understanding of the impact of mental health and mental illness on the client, family and community
Willingness to learn about a variety of assessment tools
Computer skills are an asset
Sound working knowledge of the mental health services act and related legislation an asset
Resourcefulness, ability to work independently, and in collaboration with others is required
Ability to follow policies and procedures of Mental Health Services and Saskatoon District Health
Knowledge of group skills
Knowledge of individual assessment and counselling skills
Ability to plan, organize and coordinate effectively and adapt to
