Job Description: The Clinical Educator integrates skills and knowledge from nursing theory and principles of adult learning in the provision of direct patient care, clinical coordination, clinical problem-solving, education and research for a defined group of patients and/or programs. The incumbent will: 1. Provide leadership that is visible, pro-active and provides the delivery of client care through the application of practice standards. In consultation with the Site Director of Home Care/Community Team Managers, the individual is responsible for assessing learning needs of staff, planning, implementing and evaluation designated education activities/programs either facility-based and/or region wide. The HCCE will use a consultative approach with evidenced based research to provide support to Home Care Staff.
Experience
REQUIRES A MINIMUM OF THREE TO FIVE YEARS NURSING EXPERIENCE IN HOME CARE NURSING. PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN NURSING EDUCATION IS DESIRABLE. DEMONSTRATES TEACHING SKILLS. UNDERSTANDS THE NURSING PROCESS AND PRINCIPLES OF ADULT LEARNING. DEMONSTRATES BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS APPLICABLE TO HOME CARE. EXPERIENCE IN DEVELOPING PROGRAMS/RESOURCES FOR STAFF IN THE AREAS OF PLANNING, IMPLEMENTATION, QUALITY MONITORING AND EVALUATION
