Manpower is currently looking for a Grain Purchaser. This position could be based in Saskatchewan or Alberta. Purchaser will be responsible for purchasing at least 2000MT of specialty grains every month directly from growers. Purchaser must understand Canadian Agricultural market needs to create value added solutions for our buyers overseas.

Responsibilities:

Weekly Purchasing projects
Establish and implement purchasing strategies, policies, and procedures
Establish, build, and maintain relationships with all key farmers, brokers and suppliers
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms
Review and resolve any discrepancies with invoices, grievances, claims, conflicts, product non-conformance or quality issues
Provide projections to Leadership Team or key buyers to ensure product availability on a timely basis


Experience/Qualifications:

5+ years leading in grain purchasing
Demonstrated supervisory experience spanning multiple sites and projects
Experience and ability to develop key accounts and negotiate/communicate effectively with farmers
Experienced with Rail Law, CGC rules, EDC policies and grading tables.
Experience in Agricultural trading.
Business financial management acumen (ability to understand the cost drivers for each product/process and identify Best Business Practice/benchmark performance)
Working knowledge with KPI and ERP software preferred
Amazing communications and relationship building skills along with the aptitude to influence and assist growers in making decisions

Compensation: Base salary and or Commission
