The Summer Inclusion Worker is responsible for planning and providing individualized support and/or to facilitate group activities for program participants. Following established person-centered plans, the support assists participants to maximize their potential and contribute to a positive quality of life.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Plan, organize and implement group recreation activities.
2. Accompany and support program participants to participate in community-based recreation programs and excursions.
3. Offer guidance and support that will encourage independence and assist participants in achieving their personal goals.
4. Provide feedback for Personal Program Plans.
5. Prepare documentation and reports as required.
6. Participate as an active team member.
7. Provide physical and/or personal support to participants as necessary.
8. Provide transportation to and from community-based programs.
9. Other duties as assigned.
Education and Qualifications:
Post-secondary studies in one of the following disciplines: Disability Support Worker, Recreation and Leisure, Social Work or a related field.
Valid Saskatchewan Driver's license; must maintain a driving record that is acceptable to Cosmopolitan Industries Ltd.
Must provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check prior to employment.
This position is sponsored by Canada Summer Jobs; candidates MUST meet eligibility criteria as follows:
1. be between 15-30 years of age at start of employment
2. be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of employment
3. have a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
