Job Description: The Director of Spiritual Care/Mission Leader is responsible to the Executive Director, St. Joseph's Hospital and to the Mission Integration Director (MID) and Catholic Health Ministry of Saskatchewan (CHMS). The Director of Spiritual Care offers a compassionate presence while providing emotional and spiritual care and counsel; promotes wholeness and well being. The Director of Spiritual Care honors all persons, respectful of their unique journey and the interweaving of health, cultural, philosophical, religious and/or spiritual traditions.  The incumbent is accountable for developing, assessing, integrating, and coordinating a comprehensive Spiritual Care Program.
As Mission leader, the Director of Spiritual Care is called to actualize the mission and values of the CHMS and its healthcare facilities. Mission Leaders are responsible for strategic planning of the department and in keeping the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of the facility alive and visible through Mission Effectiveness in daily operations and special events.

Required Qualifications

Completion of a relevant post-secondary education/training program
A current, firm background in Theological studies is an asset
Experience
Sound theological/religious studies preparation with an undergraduate degree or equivalent obtained from a recognized theological college. Masters of Divinity, Theological Studies or equivalent. Minimum of 2 units of CPE. Training needs to be provided by an accredited CAPPE/ACPEP training facility or its equivalent. A letter of endorsement from respective religious community. Minimum of one year of related experience in an institutional ministry is required. Membership with CAPPE/ACPEP. Willingness to seek Advance training, seeking Spec
