The Opportunity
The Population Health Branch in the Ministry of Health has a great opportunity for an innovative, proactive, results oriented leader to assume a one year term position as the Director of Disease Prevention based in Regina.
Under the leadership of the Executive Director in the Population Health Branch this position will be responsible for:
-Developing and implementing strategies for effective immunization programming and vaccine supply.
-Directing communicable disease control programs and public health nursing programs such as family health services with a focus on improving maternal and child health.
-Providing leadership in the development and management of strategies to reduce HIV, Tuberculosis and Sexually Transmitted Infections are an important part of the responsibilities of the position.
Typically, the knowledge and experience required to achieve the above is obtained through:
A Masters degree in Public Health, Public Policy or Administration combined with several years of relevant management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
