Description

To maintain a high level of safety for faculty, staff and students, the Joseph A. Remai School of Construction and the School of Transportation are adding a Health and Safety position within the schools.

This position will work closely with the Schools of Construction and Transportation and with Health, Safety and Security. The nature of the above requirements includes work to incorporate new safety standards as well as maintain existing best practices. The nature of this work requires H&S education/expertise to conduct but does not encompass the level of organizational responsibility, oversite, leadership and decision-making authority that currently exists in the H&S Managers job description.
Program and Service Delivery
Ensure the leadership in implementing and supporting the sustainability of School and program level health and safety objectives.

Risk Assessment and Management
Conducts audits and assessments of Saskatchewan Polytechnic health & safety programs, practices and policies ensuring compliance with regulatory and best practice standards for programs within the Schools.

Internal Relationship Management
Collaborates with faculty, staff, and students to ensure accurate, timely and appropriate communication and reporting on health & safety related issues.
