Description

Responsibilities: Primary duties encompass supervisory responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

Managing relationships with regulatory authorities.

Hiring and providing orientation for staff.

Supervising and fostering a supportive work environment for staff.

Maintaining the facility in accordance with licensing standards and regulations.

Making all necessary purchases.

Representing the centre in a professional manner.

Working with collaborative partners.

Insuring the curriculum and programming reflects childcare philosophy.

Providing support for parents in collaboration with partners.
Collecting data for reporting purposes in an eficient and timely manner.

Setting and maintaining budget with support of the Director of Finance.

Qualifications:

ECE, Level 3 (ECE diploma or degree).

Previous childcare experience.

Recent, relevant experience directing a large centre.

Capacity to provide leadership to a large, dynamic team.

Demonstrated interpersonal skills as well as the ability to establish rapport with staff, participants, and partners.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong organizational skills, an astute assessment of everyday situations as they arise, and an ability to manage outcomes. For example, effective prioritization of tasks and delegation of responsibilities.

Strong ethical conduct, ability to deal appropriately with confidential issues.

Ability to be open-minded and accepting of all.

Personal compatibility with the values of a non-profit family-serving agency.


Ability to work flexibly within the centres hours: 7:00am to 6:00pm.
