Description

The Yorkton Tribal Council Child & Family Services Inc. is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual to fill the position of Family Advocate Worker, located in the City of Yorkton. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of Culturally Relevant Programs for the Treaty Four First Nation Members who reside in the City of Regina. This individual will assist by providing programming for reunification and/or Prevention Programs to meet needs of Urban Treaty Four First Nation families. Some families may have had previous involvement or may be involved in Child Protection matters. Duties will include liaison with the Ministry of Social Services.
*Must possess a Bachelor of Indian Social Work/Bachelor of Social Work OR a four-year University undergraduate degree in a related discipline, *Knowledge of cultural beliefs, values, perspectives and principles, *Understanding of mediation process and methods, *Ability to plan and conduct discussions which may be sensitive and emotional, *Must possess a valid Saskatchewan Drivers License and a reliable vehicle, *Knowledge of child development and the impact of abuse and neglect, disability and other special needs including attachment issues as it relates to child welfare services, *Ability to understand family dynamics; conduct genogram/family clan/tribe research.
