Description

Custom Courier is looking to hire a full-time safety and training manager.
This job will include, but not be limited to, the following:

1. Implementing a training program for all new owner/operators who join our team.
2. Performing quarterly safety inspections on our entire fleet of over 100 owner operators.
3. Performing on-site safety inspections of owner/operators during the loading and unloading process.    
4. Dealing with any reported safety infractions and the subsequent disciplinary actions for all owner    
     operators.
5. Responsible for all safety, OHS and WCB claim investigations.
6. Perform quarterly fleet safety meetings with all owner operators.
7. Run safety training programs on our state-of-the-art Virage VS600M truck simulator for our owner  
     operators and several other customers as needed. See https://simulatorsolutions.ca/.

The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Proof of double Covid-19 vaccination
- Have a valid drivers license
- Excellent/efficient time management skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask as required.
- Be open, authentic, and transparent in all aspects of his/her duties.
- Be able to set and accomplish goals within specific time frames  and be accountable in this.
- Be able to work harmoniously with other staff and managers.
- Be independently self-motivated and self-disciplined.
- Be passionate and hold a high value for providing excellence in all aspects of their work.
- Have successfully demonstrated management skills.
- Have specific knowledge of the transportation industry  especially regarding Class 1A licensees.
- Be competent and proficient in computer knowledge including Word and Excel.  

Wage will be negotiable based on industry experience.
