- Provides a positive customer experience with fair, friendly and courteous service.
- Greet customers as they enter and leave the food store.
- Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information.
- Registers sales on a point-of-sale system by scanning items, itemizing and totaling customer's purchases.
- Responsible for the accuracy of money in cash drawers at beginning of shift. Able to reconcile all transactions with cash drawers at end of shift.
- Maintain clean and tidy check out areas abiding by all provincial COVID-19 cleaning protocols.
- Any other duties needed to help to drive Gateway Co-ops vision and abide by our co-operatives values of responsibility, respect and excellence.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a grocery clerk or retail experience is an asset.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, people and customer service skills.
- Must be able to multi-task in a very fast paced environment and have capability to work independently.
- Positive attitude, strong interpersonal expertise and energetic personality.
- Physically able to do heavy lifting of 22 kgs (50 lbs), climbing, kneeling.
- Willing to work all shifts scheduled.
