Calian Composites is actively pursuing a Business Development Representative to support our business growth objectives. This role will work closely with internal departments (Sales, Engineering, Production, and Purchasing) to assess customer requirements, develop technical and price proposals that address these requirements and internally coordinate delivery of associated solutions to existing and new customers.

Responsibilities:

-Assist in the gathering and maintenance of market requirements for composite solutions
-Contacting potential clients through cold calls, emails, and meetings to promote technical capabilities
-Develop business cases and identify new customers in need of composite solutions
-Translate customer preferences into product requirements to use in product design scoping
-Coordinate the quotation and bid process for customer proposals including consolidation of technical and price inputs from engineering, production, external suppliers and services
-Build trade-off and cost sensitivity analyses to aide in critical bid related decisions
-Prepare internal bid documents for management review and approval

Qualifications:

-Mechanical Engineering degree or diploma with minimum 5 years experience in customer acquisition, solutions development and coordination, and oversight in the delivery of these solutions
-A customer-oriented approach with a technical background
-Experience with composite development or the composites industry is considered an asset
