POSITION SUMMARY
The position will serve the communities of Samaritan Place and the Hospice at Glengarda, including the Local Council, Leadership, residents, families and staff by providing administrative support and clerical resources.
NATURE AND SCOPE
The Administrative Assistant FT operates in an environment of self-initiation and independence providing a broad spectrum of services. One of the major challenges in this position is to assist the Administrative Staff in managing the volume and diversity of functions and to provide timely reporting while responding to numerous requests for information in a busy environment. The hours of work will be Monday - Friday days with some flexibility as required by staff or resident needs.
Samaritan Place is a faith based organization committed to providing a home to 100 level 3 and level 4 residents and 20 independent individuals living at Samaritan Place. All Samaritan Place staff are expected to help create a home and strengthen community to establish a sense of belonging, usefulness and purpose in daily life. Self- led teams and resident choice are paramount in building a home.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Graduate of a recognized Business College
- Minimum 24 months previous related office
experience

Strong oral and written communication skills

Excellent organization skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment
Proficient in using Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook
Good knowledge of information technology (IT)
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position will exert minimal physical effort in the performance of the job. The position requires interaction with care staff, residents/families on a daily basis. Pets may be present. Samaritan Place is a non-smoking facility.
