Description

Brandt is currently seeking a Shop Supervisor for our Agricultural Products Division located in Regina. This position is responsible for organizing staff, efficient shop operations, workflow management and mentoring new staff.

Duties & Responsibilities

Supervise all areas of the production crew, including kitting, yard staff, prepping, welding, paint and assembly
Train, coach, mentor new employees
Maintain high standards while being fair and impartial in application of standards and goals
Help develop shop layouts to maximize efficiencies of entire plant
Responsible for the on-time and on budget delivery of products through all departments.
Develop and maintain procedures to ensure flow of work and information through each area in a timely manner with a focus on meeting customer delivery requirements
Assign work, prioritize work, work with supervision from all departments
Work with HR and payroll
Inspect quality and procedures on an ongoing basis
Identify and support opportunities to eliminate waste and lead initiatives to improve plant efficiency and quality
Work with the Shop Manager to determine manpower requirements for all departments
Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:
5-10 years working in the Steel Manufacturing business
Lean manufacturing training and experience
Prior Supervisor experience
Sound leadership, and team-building skills
An understanding of work flow and constraints theories
High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
Work well under pressure and meet set deadlines
Highly motivated, possess excellent communication skills
Knowledge of industrial equipment and experience in a manufacturing environment
