Description

Lakefield LLP is a Saskatchewan team with a modern take on law. We operate in a friendly and informal atmosphere, but always with professionalism.
  
We currently have an opening for an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant. You will be assisting lawyers and clients as they work through legal proceedings, including providing assistance with document preparation and administrative functions. The position involves working under tight timelines, schedules and on numerous files at any given time.

If you are an experienced Litigation Assistant, who takes pride in the quality of your work and wants to be part of a busy team, this position may appeal to you. Strong Microsoft Office (in particular MS Word) and organizational skills are needed, as is the ability to multi-task, and prioritize and expedite workflow, and manage multiple lawyers practices.

Your required skills, knowledge and ability should include:
-    Diploma or Certificate from a recognized Legal Assistant Program;
-    At least 3 to 5 years experience as a Litigation Assistant including, but not limited to the areas of, civil, debtor/creditor, family and criminal law;
-    Ability to process large volumes of documents, and finalize legal pleadings;
-    Advanced PC skills, particularly with Microsoft Office and Outlook along with other law firm specific software, including Acumin, Eclipse and DivorceMate;
-    Strong dicta transcription skills;
-    Excellent proofreading skills;
-    The ability to work independently, follow instructions with minimal supervision and take initiative;
-    A willingness to learn and contribute to our team.
-    Positive attitude and great communication skills  both verbal & written.
