Description

The Town of Kindersley is seeking a Manager of Recreation and Culture to provide programming and event planning in all recreational and cultural facilities. This full-time position reports directly to the Chief Administrative Officer

Primary responsibilities include:
Responsible for all sport, recreation, and culture programming
Facility bookings and schedules; including the West Central Events Centre (two ice surfaces/athletic walking track/various meeting room space) and the Elks Hall
Special event planning
Prepare regular monthly reports
Coordinate and supervise staff for implementation of Town programs
Support for volunteer organizations based out of Town facilities

Required skills and qualifications:
Post-secondary education in Recreation Programming or equivalent experience
Excellent communication and public relations skills
Exceptional time management and organizational skills
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft computer software (Excel, Word, etc.) and email, and capability of using program booking, asset management, and work order software
Experience in supervising volunteers and employees is an asset
Proven ability to develop and maintain culture, recreation & sport programs
Ability to work with staff, Council, the public and other enforcement authorities
Valid Class 5 drivers license
Aquatic experience an asset. Courses such as Water Safety Instructor Trainer, National Lifeguard Trainer, First Aid Instructor
