Description

The Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sports mission is to enhance economic growth and support quality of life by managing the provincial parks system and providing recreation, sport, heritage and cultural opportunities for residents and visitors.

The Ministry is currently seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to work as part of a team to assist with the planning and implementation of water-based recreation in an outdoor leisure pool setting at Buffalo Pound Provincial Park. The supervisory position will entail working various hours including evenings and weekends. The seasonal position would encompass a full-time work term after the May long weekend or the beginning of June until the 3rd weekend in September or a week past the pool closure to the public. This is not a summer student position.

As a Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard, you will assist in the implementation of the Red Cross Swim program by providing a fun and interactive environment for children to learn aquatic skills and water safety both in the water and on deck. You will be capable of delivering lessons that are interesting, effective and age appropriate. You will also plan and deliver aquatic fitness sessions that are energetic and fun to adult participants. You will also assist in planning and implementing special events that are consistent with the park's goals and objectives.
