Job Duties/ Responsibilities (but not limited to):
Perform emergency roadside repairs;
Perform brake adjustments;
Receive and relay information to central dispatch;
Operating and driving trucks to transport goods and materials over long distances;
Planning trip logistics and getting required documentation such as special permits or other mandatory documents for the transportation of goods/materials internationally and/or within country;
Ensuring safety and security of cargo;
Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy;
Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment;
Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption;
Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle;
Communicating with dispatch other truck drivers.
Skills Requirement(s):
Documentation Knowledge:
Accident or incident reports;
Trip reports;
Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip);
Driver logbook;
Bill of lading.
Education: Secondary Education and Class 1 license is required;
Experience: 1-2 years.
