David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit a permanent Payroll Administrator.

Reporting directly to the Senior Accountant, our client is looking for a Payroll Administrator who is self-motivated and can work with little direction while being an integral part of a team. This position will administer Payroll for all hourly and salaried employees within the company.

The Role:
Responsible for full-cycle payroll processing (union, non-union, hourly, salary)
Import timesheet hours biweekly
Setting up new hires on various benefit plans
Responsible for payroll changes, terminations and ROE's
Verify and adjust records accordingly
Assist with sorting and distributing biweekly pay stubs and annual T4's
Assist with any related issues with associates pay as required
Create new hire files and filing for the documents received in payroll
Ensure data integrity between payroll and Sage People systems.
Integrity, discretion, and the ability to work with confidential and sensitive information is essential

The Ideal Candidate:
5+ years of Payroll Administration experience
Certified PCP Payroll Compliance Practitioner is required
Experience processing multi-provincial payroll
Must understand union contracts and have experience reading collective agreements
Experience with computerized payroll systems is required
Group Benefit experience, Sage People and Sage 300 experience will be considered an asset
Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
Ability to work well independently with a multitude of deadlines and alterations
Work with minimal supervision
Proficient with MS Office software, particularly Word and Excel
