Brief Overview:
Metis NationSaskatchewan (MNS) is seeking a driven and experienced individual with a strong understanding of Metis politics to conduct a comprehensive review of the role and structure of Locals as they pertain to the Metis government in Saskatchewan. The ideal candidate is independent and non-partisan, and demonstrates strong legislative knowledge, exemplary organizational skills, well-developed analytical capabilities, as well as adeptness in problem solving, human relations, and communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Submit a detailed work plan and budget for approval by the PMC within 30 days of appointment
Consult with the twelve regional councils, including regional directors and Local Presidents, on issues related to the role of Locals; consult with Metis citizens and MNS leadership as needed
Provide recommendations which will inform the constitutional and legislative reform processes
Complete a detailed final report with substantive recommendations on matters relating to and arising from the work of the Commissioner
Qualifications:
Must have a university degree in a relevant field of study
Over ten years of executive level or senior management experience in Indigenous government, law, business and/or operations management or a similar related field
Knowledge and skills:
Must have comprehensive knowledge of Metis NationSaskatchewan legislation and policies/procedures of Metis Nation government
Must have consultation, budgeting, internal financial control, and risk-management experience
