Structure
The Mechanic reports to and is accountable to the Plant Manager. The incumbent will work in conjunction with the Plant Manager, Dispatch Person, and equipment operators to ensure that fleet equipment remains in proper safe working order and that repairs are made in a timely and professional manner. Primary responsibilities are fleet maintenance.
Overview
The maintenance mechanic will be responsible for all maintenance of the production fleet. This will include review of pre-trip inspection sheets, minor and major defect repair, as well as preventative maintenance scheduling and planning. The mechanic will work in conjunction with outside maintenance shops to help determine repair planning and costs. In some cases, the incumbent may be required to work overtime and weekend to meet maintenance goals. The maintenance person will also be responsible for assessing fleet capabilities and optimizing for efficiency where possible. This will include striving to meet and improve KPIs as set out by the Plant and Operations Managers. The mechanic will be responsible for carrying out maintenance duties on site when required or requested by dispatch or management. This position may also be required to work evenings and weekends as project dictates.
