The Carrot River Outback Thunder are seeking applications for the position of Head Coach & Manager of Hockey Operations.
An applicant should have the following qualifications and/or certifications:
- Respect and Understanding of the sport.
- Criminal Record Check.
- Coaching Experience
- Preference will be given to those candidates located in the Northeast region of Saskatchewan.
- Preference will be given to those with greater experience and higher levels of coaching certification.
The successful applicant will have the following responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Establish seasonal goals and objectives for the team.
- Along with the General Manager, hire and supervise an Assistant Coach.
- Plan on and off ice activities alongside Assistant Coach and General Manager.
- Run evaluation camps, coordinated along with the General Manager.
- Setting up structured practices plans.
- Running practices, 3x a week, Tues-Thurs in Carrot River.
- Manage bench during all home and away games and maintain a level of composure.
- Manage PJHL and Hockey Canada player transactions are complete and up to date.
o Ensure all players are carded correctly and entered on both PJHL and Hockey Canada website rosters before any game.
- Assist the General Manager with any player management and other duties as requested or required.
- Attend all PJHL meetings alongside the General Manager and/or any other delegates approved by the Board of Directors.
- Assisting and answering to the Board of Directors when necessary.
- Help with and obtain sponsorships, advertising and any fundraising as required.
- Additional duties as prescribed by the General Manager or Board or Directors.
