Description

The City of Moose Jaw is seeking to fill the Cashier/Lifeguard/Instructor roles. Under the direction of the Recreation Service Supervisor, this position is responsible for the safe delivery of municipal pool programming, including the following duties:
-    Ensure the safe delivery of aquatic programs, providing proper lifeguard supervision
-    Ensure all patrons adhere to rules of the facility and initiate appropriate actions
-    Respond to first aid and emergency situations
-    Serve in the capacity of learn-to-swim or fitness instructor. Ensure records and administration requirements are completed
-    Address inquiries from the public and user groups while being courteous at all times. Ensure patrons and staff are aware of all matters regarding water safety
-    Accept memberships, admissions, learn to swim program registrations
-    Prepare and balance daily cash sheets, maintain cash float and attendance records
-    Prepare daily deposit for review by the Head Guard/Pool Manager
-    Accept bookings for meeting rooms, ice arenas, swimming pools, etc
-    Participate and lead in-service training as directed by the Head Guard/Pool Manager
-    Perform various cleaning tasks and ensure all related pool program areas within the facility are clean, safe and up to established standards, also assist in pool maintenance and tests

The ideal candidate will have:
-    Lifeguard certification to meet current Saskatchewan Health Swimming Pool Regulations and Standards; Current National Lifeguard; Current Red Cross Water Safety Instructor; Current Life Saving Instructor and Current Fitness Instructor certificates; Demonstrated ability to identify and appropriately respond to emergency situations
-    Ability to deal courteously, effectively and tactfully with the public
-    Ability to work accurately with cash and be fully bondable
-    Ability to work in a computer environment including Microsoft Office and PerfectMind Recreation Software
