Description

YTHY Inc. (Yorkton Transitional Homes for Youth Inc.) is currently looking to employ a youth mentor with preference given to those between the ages of 20 and 35.
YTHY inc relief Youth Mentor follows the directions of the Executive Director to support each youths successful transition into independence.
This relief mentor will be on a casual basis, with possible part time shifts    
The Youth Mentors major mandate is to fulfill the Ministry of Social Services requirement of having a staff member in the home overnight, every night.
Other key responsibilities include maintaining confidentiality, monitoring youth performance, submitting reports, modeling positive decision making and behaviour, as well as following the Youth Centered Services Policy and Procedure Manual.

Duties Include:
- being a positive role model to the youth
- preparing or helping to prepare meals
- assuring youth are at scheduled appointments or work on time (this may include giving a ride to and from)
- assuring that house rules are followed
- documenting activities during shift and email to executive director

Valid Drivers License and own vehicle.
First Aid & CPR.
Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check


Education:
May be working on a Youth Worker Diploma or Social Work Degree.
Experience: If not in education - parenting skills and passion for working with at-risk youth.
