Description

The Drafting Technologist will be responsible for preparing layout, assembly, and detail drawings for various Meridian products and custom projects from preliminary concepts, sketches, specification sheets and other data. The Drafting Technologist will review plans and confer with internal stakeholders to meet project specifications, complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets.

Job Duties
    Design and prepare layout, assembly, and detail drawings for Meridian standard products and special projects from measurements, sketches and specifications
    Organize and maintain a design and CAD digital file for each project
    Revise computer-aided designs and plans and covert them to 3D drawings in Inventor
    Interface with departmental personnel to obtain details of equipment and materials requirements
    Brainstorm as part of a team to improve and/or develop design concepts using CAD or Inventor and other traditional design tools
    Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets
    Employ problem-solving strategies and work with key stake holders to address product design issues
    Ensure proper documentation of all work, products and relevant activities
    Other duties as assigned

Requirements
    Post-secondary certificate or diploma in design or a related field an asset
    Autodesk Inventor, Vault, and AutoCAD software experience an asset
    Working knowledge of MS Office and Outlook software
    Proven analytical skills and the ability to effectively communicate them required
    Able to read and interpret drawings and specifications
    Knowledge of materials for sheet metal manufacturing an asset
    Effective communication skills both verbally and in written form
    Demonstrated ability to finish multiple projects within timeline
    Excellent organizational skills
    Able to work with minimal supervision
    Detail oriented
    Farming background considered a valuable asset
