Are you interested in Working as a Summer Student for the Government of Saskatchewan? Please submit your application online for a Highway Maintenance position. To apply for this job you must be a current full time student returning to full time studies in the fall of 2022.

This website currently notes the number of openings as one, however there may actually be multiple positions available.

Some of the duties performed by the General Labour and Flagperson are:

Operating maintenance equipment  trucks, loaders, packers, bobcats;
Maintaining maintenance equipment  fueling equipment, checking fluid levels, washing units;
Survey/Premark pavement markings on newly constructed and overlaid sections of highway;
Flagging traffic is the main responsibility. (Training and Certificate provided);
Setting up work zone signs; heavy lifting; using 10 pound sledge hammer;
Plan and install highway pavement signs;
Manual labour  shoveling and raking to fill pot holes and repair highway cracks;
Cleaning yards and shops;
Some computer or office work may be assigned.
