Description

Vendasta's General Counsel will work cross-functionally across our growing team and manage Vendasta's day-to-day and strategic legal needs. Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the General Counsel will work on behalf of various internal and external stakeholders in the areas of intellectual property, corporate, commercial law, and more. The General Counsel will have a unique opportunity to partner with key business stakeholders across a wide range of legal matters crucial to a fast-growing, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business. They will partner with and advise senior leaders across the organization on key areas such as contract & regulatory strategy, privacy & data protection, risk mitigation and more. Responsibilities:
Legal counsel & support
Contract management
Compliance & mitigation

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor degree (JD)
Active member of the Law Society of Saskatchewan (or equivalent jurisdiction)
5+ years of relevant experience (post-admission to the bar) in a law firm or as an in-house counsel; experience in technology or SaaS considered a strong asset
Experience working in global privacy laws and data protection requirements (GDPR)
Experience in mergers & acquisitions and other transactionary events
Ability to work on a broad range of legal topics on a global basis, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing business needs; a self-starter with exceptional initiative and business acumen
