Description

The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement supplies services to the public and other ministries that support efforts to build the economy and make a better life for all Saskatchewan people. Services include central property management services including government buildings, accommodations, transportation and information technology.

The North Property Management Branch requires a service-oriented individual to join their team as a Journeyperson Plumber located in the northern community of Buffalo Narrows. This position will be responsible for performing a variety of operations and maintenance, grounds keeping and security procedures. The objective is to minimize equipment breakdowns or failures; to maximize equipment durability and efficiency; and ultimately ensure a safe, comfortable and cost-effective environment is provided to our building occupants.

Additional duties include:

- Operation and maintenance of all HVAC equipment and systems; plumbing; electrical and related systems and equipment; snow removal; lawn care; securing building and grounds as required;
- Responding to client inquiries and ensure facilities and equipment are safe and in good operating readiness;
- Supervision of other maintenance staff;
- Operation of heavy-duty grounds equipment (manual and powered);
- Maintaining, repairing, altering and/or replacing (upgrade) various building system equipment and/or components;
- Overseeing performance of contractors (e.g. cleaning, electrical, construction, etc.); and
- Ensuring direct staff and contractors are following safe work procedures, have the necessary training/certification for the activities they are conducting and are working in accordance with OH&S Acts & Regulations.
