Description

Through the assistance of our exceptional ECEs, the YMCA of Regina delivers top rated programming that ensures FUN, exploration and milestone achieving environments.

Responsibilities:
    Understand and uphold Ministry of Education childcare regulations.
    Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children.
    Engage and encourage children through the implementation of the YMCAs Playing to Learn Curriculum.
    Maintains a clean and healthy workplace according to public health and YMCA standards.
    Demonstrates a commitment to working in partnership with parents, families, stakeholders and team members.

Job Requirements:
    Early Childhood Education Level I-III Certification or willingness to obtain. The YMCA of Regina will sponsor up to 2 classes per semester to assist current employees with their ECE Certifications.
    Experience working in a structured childcare environment, an asset.
    Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
    Flexibility regarding assigned working hours during operating hours of 6:30 am to 6:00 pm.
    Criminal Record Check (original) with vulnerable sector check dated within 3 months of hire.
    Current: Standard First Aid, CPR. The YMCA of Regina will cover the costs of current employees initial certification and recertification during their employment.
    Play and Exploration Training an asset, but not required.

 - Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree
Early Childhood Education Skills
 - Provide opportunity for creative expression through the mediums of art, dramatic play and music
 - Provide supervision and guidance of daily activities, field trips and special activities
Early Childhood Educator Assistant Skills
 - Prepare and serve snacks
 - Guide children in development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
 - Conduct and monitor activity programs designed for young children
 - Arrange transition periods such as lunch and rest for children
Work Setting
 - Day-care centre
Security and Safety
 - Criminal record check (abstract)
