Plant operations related to material handling of fertilizer, including loading and unloading, assisting in inventory and operation of handling equipment at our production facility plant in Springwater, rural Saskatchewan.
Duties:
Load, unload and move fertilizer products by hand or using plant equipment.
Load outbound shipments onto and off trucks and unload receiving material.
Handling activities such as counting, weighing, sorting, packing and unpacking and inspect product upon arrival, document any signs of damage or shortages.
Operate bagging machine in preparation for shipment. Operate loaders and other equipment to transport materials to and from transportation vehicles and loading docks, store and retrieve materials in warehouses.
Assisting in inventory duties such as: matching shipped items to orders, document items, update the inventory database, filling warehouse orders, weighing and checking materials. Ensure all incoming items are properly labelled and stored in the warehouse, by following safe operating and storage procedures. Assist the Plant Management in managing the products inventory by following existing controls to minimize inventory losses.
Other:
Perform routine equipment maintenance and provide assistance to contractors on-site to perform repairs.
Participate in training to operate plant equipment safely and effectively.
Daily plant and yard clean up related to the work area to ensure safety and quality controls.
Must be able to work overtime and weekends when required.
Preferred:
Knowledge on inventory control, quality management and operating efficiency.
Knowledge of grain and crop input and grain handling.
Eligibility
At least one year full-time work experience in the past three years in intended occupation.
Language score of at least Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4.
High school.
