MJFS is seeking an experienced counsellor to provide counselling to individuals, couples and families in a client centered and trauma informed atmosphere that supports clients to build on strengths, identify barriers and work towards positive change.  The Counsellor will be adaptable in approach and proficient in a range of clinical theories, especially solution focused and brief therapy modalities.  As a member of a dynamic counselling team the counsellor will support the objectives and priorities of the counselling team as well as those of the agency, participating in team case consultations, making referrals to other resources where appropriate and liaise with other programs and resources around case management where necessary.
    
Qualifications/Experience
At minimum, incumbent will hold Bachelor of Social Work or a university degree in related counselling field with clinical counselling experience.  Preference will be given to those candidates with a masters degree in the related field with clinical counselling experience.  Knowledge and professional skills in front line services including case management, counselling or clinical services, program management, and/or brief service/crisis intervention along with effective interpersonal skills to build and maintain collaborative and professional relationships within and outside the organization are essential.  A member in good standing with a professional governing body as well as a criminal record check.
